Groupe Robert is currently looking for a dispatcher for its Rouyn-Noanda terminal.

The candidate will be responsible for managing a team of drivers and dispatching them to maximize the use of equipment and time. He or she will also have to take each customer's needs into consideration.

Your responsibilities will be as follows:

-Plan and coordinate pickups and deliveries entered into the system to ensure that they are completed on time, safely and according to transportation standards;
-Establish proactive communication with drivers for optimal planning;
-Manage assigned fleet capacity;
-Check driver availability;
-Check availability of trucks and trailers;
-Ensure that all relevant information related to pick-ups and deliveries is entered into the system;
-Methodically monitor drivers and equipment to maximize utilization and limit waiting time;
-Check each driver's route to plan departures and destinations;
-Demonstrate respect and fairness in dealings with drivers;
-Suggest and implement new ideas or ways of doing things to improve performance;
-Adapt to changes in customer requests and make last-minute changes (e.g.: redirect trips);
-Revise planning to take account of unforeseen events, if necessary;
-Work closely with the customer service team, especially when delays are expected.
-Notify supervisor of abnormal operational or customer situations.

 

In order to join Groupe Robert's team, you must have:

- At least one year of dispatching experience;
- High school diploma;
- Computer literate;
- Good knowledge of geography;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Strong sense of priority management;
- Self-reliance and resourcefulness.
